You may have noticed that TypePad has a new feature: Additional pages, which can be customized and added to any blog. Mine are located to the immediate left, at the top of the left column. I've decided to post missing child alerts on one page, because the code was proving too complex for individual posts.
Anyway, to peruse the Missing Children page here at Tengu House, one could be forgiven for getting the impression that this samsaric world is indeed a horrible, horrible place. Now, mind you, most of these missing young'uns are runaways - doesn't make any easier on their families and it may sound callous to say, but at least they're mostly not abductees.
Still, though - to dig through the volumes of missing children is indeed a depressing endeavor. Take heart, though, heaven-dogs! There have been recoveries. I've chosen not to post the recoveries, out of respect for the privacy of the families. Once a child is reported found (recovered), I simply remove his or her profile from the Missing Children page. And it has happened a number of times already.
Just wanted to say that. Sometimes we need a little good news, no?
